Prof. Michael Payer

Since 2016, Prof. Michael Payer has served as Deputy Head of the Clinical Department for Oral Surgery and Orthodontics at the University Clinic for Dentistry and Oral Health at the Medical University of Graz. In 2014, he was appointed Associate Professor at the same institution, following years of dedicated research and clinical practice.

His academic journey includes international research stays, such as at the Clinic for Crown and Bridge Prosthetics and Material Science at the University of Zurich (2013), the Prince Philip Dental Hospital at the University of Hong Kong (2012), and the Clinic for Oral Surgery at Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf (2011). Since 2010, he has been a private lecturer at the Clinical Department for Oral Surgery and Orthodontics in Graz.

Prof. Payer completed his doctoral studies in Medical Sciences at MedUni Graz (2003-2006) and has pursued advanced education in implantology, including the DGI-APW Implantology Curriculum in Germany (2009). He holds degrees in both Dentistry (2004) and Human Medicine (2000) from the Medical University of Graz and Karl-Franzens University, respectively. His research interests focus on oral surgery, implantology, and tissue regeneration.
